Job Summary
Synapse Product Development is seeking a full-time IT professional to join their multidisciplinary product development team. This position will provide leadership for all aspects of IT at Synapse including direct responsibility for maintaining up-time.
Responsibilities
Ensure continuous availability of IT resources. Plan and coordinate IT system improvements, capacity increases, and disaster recovery systems. Manage and provision IT staff. Negotiate and monitor telco and ISP vendor relationships. Perform essential IT maintenance and support duties.
Oversight for existing on-site and hosted IT infrastructure including:
• Microsoft Windows File Servers
• Linux Servers
• OSX Servers
• VMWare ESXi Servers
• Microsoft Sharepoint Server
• Microsoft Project Server
• Microsoft Exchange Server
• BlackBerry Enterprise Messaging Server
• GIT and Subversion servers
• Asterisk PBX
Required Skills
• Microsoft Windows, Apple OSX, and Linux systems administration
• Able to meet and verify SLA targets
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent team leadership skills
• Ability to design and manage IT solutions to Enterprise Data Management problems
• Must have at least one superpower
Desirable Skills
• Fluency in Perl, Python, Ruby and Bourne Shell scripting
• Experience administering Git and Subversion
• Experience managing Microsoft Back-office servers, e.g. Exchange, SQL Server, Sharepoint
• Experience integrating hosted with on-site services
Education and Experience
• Ten years of experience in IT
• Demonstrable understanding of Enterprise Data Management
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
