Jake Sprouse

Jake Sprouse is a Pacific Northwest native and is the Head of Technology at Synapse. He joined Synapse in 2007 after completing a degree in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University where he worked on implementing computer vision systems for autonomous vehicles and studied machine learning and embedded programming. He holds a BS in Mathematics from the Colorado School of Mines.

Jake began at Synapse as an embedded software engineer, and has worked on a variety of projects ranging from development of a high-definition graphics overlay system to firmware development for wearable fitness electronics products. He is known for his expertise in C and C++ coding, software architecture, and sensor data processing algorithms.

Jake was the Director of Software Engineering at Synapse from 2015 through 2018. During that time he grew the software team from 15 to 35, and expanded the team’s capabilities into AI, IoT, digital security, and other areas.

Jake took the role of Head of Technology in 2019, with the goal of growing new and exciting engineering, science, and technology capabilities company-wide. Since then he has enjoyed learning countless new disciplines, collaborating with a global technology leadership team, and working with clients to shape Synape’s capabilities to best serve their needs.
