Martha Calderon
Electrical Engineering Technical Lead
Martha is an Electrical Engineering Technical Lead at Synapse. She enjoys working with other engineering disciplines to research, design, develop, improve, and test new and exciting technologies. She has been with Synapse since 2008, and has worked on a variety of projects from control relay boards and consumer electronics to low-power and small form factor wearable devices. She has experience in digital and analog hardware design, system architecture, electrical verification, battery testing, failure analysis, signal processing, and FPGA design and verification. She takes pride in working with clients to turn ideas into well designed solutions.
Previously she worked as a Design Engineer at Adtran Inc in Huntsville, Alabama. She was part of the wireless telecommunication networking division and contributed to the development of a QAM data radio working through hardware design, system testing, and FPGA firmware verification.
Martha holds a BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM) in Monterrey, Mexico, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. During her master’s she was a member of the Wireless Networking Systems Lab and contributed to ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communication research. Her thesis explored the use of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna configurations, and time-reversed (TiR) signal processing to improve UWB communications.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, running, biking, hiking, and climbing with her husband and kids.
